Huntington's Awareness Month Wrap Up
Thank you to everyone who participated in the Inaugural Huntington's Awareness Month during May. Whether you hosted you own event, came along to Melbourne Town Hall or posted something on social media, you contributed to increasing awareness of HD.
As you may already know we were fortunate enough to receive some wonderful support from the City of Melbourne who lit up the Melbourne Town Hall for two nights, we were thrilled to take part in this national campaign known as #LightItUp4HD.To view all locations that took part in the 2017 campaign around the world visit: https://www.huntingtonsociety.ca/lightitup4hd/
In addition to #LightItUp4HD we had a number of community members who ran their own fundraising events to raise money for the Huntington's Community. Ten year old Tiana (pictured) is one of these community members. Not only did she raise money for Huntington's, she also informed all students at her school about the disease by bravely speaking at a school assembly. Tiana is determined to make sure more people know about HD and her presentation about the condition ceretainly did that, well done Tiana!
The 2017 campaign was a great success and we area already looking forward to making it bigger and better in 2018!
