Notice of Special General Meeting of Huntington's Victoria |
To all Members of Huntington's Victoria
Over the recent months, the Board of Huntington's Victoria have been reviewing and seeking advice about the Constitution of Huntington's Victoria. The current document is many years old, and is quite 'dated'. In fact, some aspects of the Constitution are simply no longer appropriate for an organisation with standing and resources of Huntington's Victoria. Accordingly, legal advise has been sought, and a new draft Constitution prepared. The Board would like to stress that the Constitution has not been materially altered, but has been updated and modernised from it previous form. A copy of the Constitution, showing all the changes is available to download at our website.

The Huntington's Disease Charity Gala Ball
On Friday 12th of October, Huntington’s Victoria in conjunction with dedicated community member Jess Wood will be hosting the Inaugural Huntington’s Disease Charity Gala Ball to help raise awareness of this condition. Huntington’s disease (HD) is a genetic condition that affects the brain which progressively worsens over time. HD is classified in the same group of neurological conditions such as MS, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, however is no less devastating than these more commonly recognised conditions. HD has a wide spreading impact on a family as it affects multi-generations, with members currently suffering or have suffered this condition in each generation. There is no cure or effective treatment, and hence why your support in raising awareness of this condition is vital so we can continue to help those persons and their families affected by HD maintain the dignity, freedom, and quality of life they deserve whilst living with this disease.
