Huntington’s Victoria provides the only specialist service for people with Huntington’s Disease (HD) in the state. We are a not-for-profit organisation with tax deductible status. BoardThe Board is made up of volunteers elected by the members at the Annual General Meeting. The Board meets monthly and is responsible for governing the organisation. The CEO, who is the senior employee, is responsible for the daily operations of the organisation and reports directly to the Board. StaffHuntington’s Victoria employs a team of professional staff who run our helpline and provide client services across Victoria. The staffing team is supported by a Fundraising Manager, Project Officer, Communications Officer and administrative staff. The team is led by CEO, Ruth Hertan. Finance and Audit CommitteeThis sub-committee of the Board has the responsibility to oversee and monitor the financial affairs of Huntington's Victoria. It is also responsible for ensuring that all legislative, statutory and contractual obligations are met and that an appropriate risk management plan is in place. » Finance and Audit Committee » Community Advisory Committee Communications CommitteeThis committee provides advice to the Board through the CEO on all matters relating to communications. Its members act as a source of advice for the CEO as required. Fundraising CommitteeThe Fundraising Committee meets each month to plan, organise and run community based fundraising activities. These activities include fun runs, car rallies, annual trivia night and sausage sizzles. VolunteersMany members of the Victorian HD community volunteer their time and skills to assist in various areas of the organisation. Our Board and Community Advisory Committee are made up of volunteers, as are our fundraising and communications committees. |
