History of HD in AustraliaIt is believed that the disease was brought to Australia in 1842 by the migration of a woman from Somerset in England (possibly of Huguenot descent). The woman sailed from England to Launceston in Tasmania with her husband and seven children, aboard the barque 'Arab'.
